Sources of Motivation

Get to know the motivation of your colleagues and make your collaboration more effective and meaningful.

Sources of motivation and the meaning of work

What is the need? Would you like to know in more detail what motivates a colleague and what makes a colleague meaningful at work? And have you considered these issues in your own case? In the 'Sources of motivation' simulation, we will discuss, as the name suggests, the sources of motivation and the issues related to the meaningfulness of work. This is suitable for both new and more experienced teams as a first simulation.

Why does it work? We each find different things energising, motivating and inspiring. We can do the same quality of work even if the motivating factors are different. Understanding these will help the team to work better and support each other in challenging situations.

What about in practice? The simulation consists of 11 situations, which are drawn from current research on, for example, intrinsic motivation. In each situation, participants will be able to justify their choices and reflect on how to work together better and support each other.

Research background

Sources of motivation brings up for discussion the motivational factors of team members and the aspects of work and work environment that are considered relevant and important. It helps to identify both areas for improvement and things that are important to you, also from the point of view of working practices and recovery.

The simulation is based on solution-oriented principles and key research in the field.

Objectives

  • Create a common understanding of what each person finds energising and positive in the work environment, while identifying areas for improvement in work practices
  • You will also learn about your colleagues' ways to unwind and relax
  • Learn from the good practices of colleagues
  • Improve team performance through shared understanding

For whom

  • For teams of 4-16 people, also suitable for temporary and project teams.
  • Multi-selection does not involve judging the strengths of colleagues, which makes it possible to play with people who know each other less well.
  • It also offers a change for teams that have already played several simulations.
